Study on the Impact of COVID-19 on Albanian Entrepreneurship

83% of manufacturing businesses claimed that they do not have sufficient liquidity to pay their obligations, as a result of the significant drop in income, according to a Survey that the Union of Manufacturers conducted with 100 of its members. About 80% of businesses claim that they can pay salaries to their employees for a maximum of two months.

Although they have liquidity problems and the inability to pay salaries, most of them (57%) claim that they do not plan to apply to benefit from the sovereign guarantee. Government assistance is not seen as functional, with 65% reporting that they are not satisfied with it.

This is the second survey conducted by the Union of Producers and compared to the first, which was conducted on April 2 and 3, it is found that there is a deterioration in the expectations of producers, which is related to the duration of the crisis and the uncertainties associated with him. 76% of the businesses said that if this situation continues, they can withstand a maximum of 2 months, from about 70% that was the answer of the respondents in the first survey.

90% of respondents consider the impact of the pandemic on their activity as negative/or very negative. The rest consider it as average and no one turns out to be a beneficiary of the crisis.

The three main problems facing manufacturing businesses are:

  1. Lack of liquidity
  2. Lack of customers
  3. Decrease in production.

Lack of liquidity was reported as a problem by 84% of respondents.

The lack of customers was a concern for 65% of them and the drop in production affected 62% of respondents.

63% of respondents said that their income fell by more than 50% during the month of March. The expectation continues to remain even more pessimistic for April and May, where businesses expect the contraction of their receipts to deepen. Respectively, 72 and 73% of respondents expect their income to drop by more than 50% in the months of April and May.

Compared to the first survey, conducted at the beginning of April, expectations are more negative. At the start of April, 55% of businesses expected sales to halve or more compared to 72% three weeks later.

Studim mbi Impaktin e COVID-19 mbi Sipërmarrjen Shqiptare

83% e bizneseve prodhuese pohuan se nuk kanë likuiditet të mjaftueshëm për të paguar detyrimet, si rrjedhojë e rënies së ndjeshme të të ardhurave, sipas një Sondazhi që Bashkimi i Prodhuesve realizoi me 100 anëtarë të e tij. Po rreth 80% e bizneseve pohojnë se ata mund të paguajnë pagat për punonjësit e tyre edhe për maksimumi dy muaj.

Ndonëse kanë probleme likuiditeti dhe pamundësi për të paguar pagat, pjesa më e madhe e tyre (57%) pohojnë se nuk kanë në plan që të aplikojnë për të përfituar nga garancia sovrane. Ndihma e qeverisë nuk shihet funksionale, me 65% që raportojnë se nuk janë të kënaqur me të.

Ky është sondazhi i dytë që zhvillohet nga Bashkimi i Prodhuesve dhe në raport me të parin, që u realizua në datat 2 dhe 3 prill, konstatohet që ka një përkeqësim të pritshmërive të prodhuesve, që është e lidhur me kohëzgjatjen e krizës dhe pasiguritë që lidhen me të. 76% e biznesev thanë se nëse vazhdon kjo situatë mund të rezistojnë maksimumi dhe 2 muaj, nga rreth 70% që ishte përgjigja e të anketuarve në sondazhin e parë.

90% e të anketuarve e konsiderojnë ndikimin e pandemisë në aktivitetin e tyre si negativ/ ose shumë negativ. Pjesa tjetër e konsideron si mesatar dhe asnjë nuk rezulton si përfitues nga kriza.

Tre problemet kryesore që po përballen bizneset prodhuese janë:

  1. Mungesa e likuiditetit
  2. Mungesa e klientëve
  3. Ulja e prodhimit.

Mungesa e likuiditetit u raportua si problem nga 84% e të anketurave.

Mungesa e klientëve ishte shqetësim për 65% të tyre dhe rënia e prodhimit ka prekur 62% të të anketuarve.

63% e të anketuarve thanë se të ardhurat e tyre kanë rënë më shumë sesa 50% gjatë muajit mars. Pritshmëria vijon të mbetet edhe më pesimiste edhe për prillin dhe majin, ku bizneset presin që tkurrja e arkëtimeve të tyre të thellohet. Përkatësisht 72 dhe 73% e të anketuarve presin që të ardhurat e tyre të bien më shumë se 50% në muajt prill dhe maj.

Në raport me sondazhin e parë, të realizuar në fillim të muajit prill, pritshmëritë janë me negative. Në fillim të muajit prill, 55% e bizneseve prisnin përgjysmim të shitjeve ose më shumë, përkundrejt 72% që rezulton tre javë më vonë.

First Assembly Meeting 2020

This Friday, on January 31, the Assembly of the Albanian Manufacturers Union was convened. The purpose of the assembly was to highlight:
1- Last year’s annual work.
2- To discuss the achievement of the objectives and the completeness of the 2019 plans.
3- The manner and form of management of unexpected situations in terms of time and cost, such as the earthquake of November 26.
4- The 2019 budget project.
5- How and what awaits us in 2020.

After discussing the past year topics related to the various problems encountered by the businesses of the various economic sectors of the Albanian Manufacturers Union were presented at the discussion table. The members of the assembly talk about the causes that affect their businesses and how they can solve these problems in order to grow their enterprises economically. This discussion was joined also by the Former Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, Mr. Eduard Shalsi, who explained how the problems of various enterprises can be solved and gradually improved.

Kete te premte, me date 31 janar te ketij viti ,u mblodh Asambleja e Bashkimit te Prodhuesve Shqiptarë. Asambleja kishte per qellim te nxirrte ne pah:

Pasi u diskutua mbi vitin qe lam pas, ne tryezen e diskutimeve u parashtruan tema ne lidhje me problematikat e ndryshme te cilat hasin sipermarjet e sektoreve te ndyshem ekonomik te Bashkimit te Prodhuesve Shqiptarë. Anetaret e asamblese folen mbi shkaqet te cilat cenojne bizneset e tyre dhe si mund ti zgjidhin keto probleme ne menyre qe sipermarrjet e tyre te rriten ekonomikisht. Ketij diskutimi ju bashkua dhe Ministri per Mbrojtjen e Sipermarrjes , zoti Eduard Shalsi, i cili foli dhe sqaroi menyren se si problemet e sipermarrjeve te ndryshme mund te zgjidhen, si dhe te permiresohen ne menyre graduale.
